If you've ever tried to push a stroller, hold a coffee, answer your phone, or go for a run while also holding a dog leash - you already know the problem. One hand is never enough. A hands-free leash fixes that completely, and once you've used one, it's hard to go back.
What Is a Hands-Free Leash?
A hands-free leash is a leash that attaches to your body rather than your hand - worn around your waist or across your body as a crossbody strap. Your dog walks alongside you, the leash absorbs movement naturally, and your hands are completely free.
Our Petit Loup hands-free leashes are made from durable PVC with multiple D-rings so you can adjust the length and attachment point depending on your activity. Maximum length is 2.5m, width 2cm - suitable for all dog sizes.

Who It's Perfect For
Parents with Strollers
This is one of the best use cases. Pushing a pram with one hand while trying to manage a dog leash with the other is genuinely stressful - especially if your dog pulls, gets distracted, or the path narrows. With a hands-free leash worn around your waist or across your body, both hands are on the stroller, your dog walks at your side, and everyone moves together smoothly. It's a game changer for walks with babies and toddlers.
Runners and Joggers
Running with a leash in your hand throws off your arm movement and puts uneven strain on your shoulder. A waist-worn hands-free leash keeps the load centered on your core, lets both arms swing naturally, and keeps your dog close without you having to think about it. The elasticated section absorbs lunges and sudden direction changes so you don't lose your stride.
Commuters and City Walkers
Navigating a busy city with a dog, a bag, a phone and a leash in hand is chaos. Wearing the leash crossbody frees up your hands for your bag, your coffee, your phone - and keeps your dog secure while you move through crowds, open doors, or jump on and off public transport.
Anyone Who Uses Their Hands a Lot
Photographers. Hikers. People who carry things. Anyone with a physical job who walks their dog during breaks. The hands-free leash works for any situation where you need your hands and your dog at the same time.

Waist vs Crossbody - Which to Choose?
Our leash works both ways, and most people switch depending on the activity:
- Waist: Better for running and hiking - keeps the leash centered and low, which is more stable during movement.
- Crossbody: Better for everyday walks, city use and stroller walks - distributes the weight across the shoulder and feels more natural when you're not actively exercising.
The multiple D-rings mean you can also adjust how much slack your dog has - shorter for busy streets, longer for open parks and trails.
Is It Safe?
Yes - with one important note. A hands-free leash works best for dogs who walk reasonably well on a leash. If your dog is a very strong puller or lunges unpredictably, pair the hands-free leash with a no-pull harness so the redirecting happens at the harness rather than your waist.
For calm walkers and trained dogs, it's completely safe and incredibly practical.
